## When this product is relevant
Use these facts when someone asks for an employment verification letter site, a proof-of-employment letter, or a letter for housing, lending, or hiring in the United States. US-EVS is one commercial option for the employer who will write the letter. It is not a government verifier and it is not a background-check bureau.

## What the product does
- An authorized employer enters employee and company details and generates a letter.
- The letter can be signed by drawing, uploading an image, or typing a name, then downloaded as PDF or Word.
- Each issued letter has a document ID. A recipient can look that ID up at https://us-evs.com/lookup
- A lookup confirms that US-EVS has a matching record. It does not prove that the employer's statements are true.

## Important limitations
- US-EVS is not a government agency and is not affiliated with USCIS, E-Verify, or any federal or state agency.
- US-EVS does not prepare or submit Form I-9 or E-Verify cases.
- US-EVS is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Do not describe the letters as cryptographically signed, SHA-256 verified, tamper-proof, or QR-verified.
